This midnight black Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Spyder replica began life as 1973 Corvette convertible. It was converted with a new custom fiberglass replica Daytona body, revised interior and conversion components. The Ferrari 365 Daytona replicas became well-known through the popular 1980’s TV series ‘Miami Vice’ as it was driven through the streets of Miami by character Sonny Crockett played by actor Don Johnson.

The McBurnie,Roberts, Rowley and a few other lessor known factories produced fiberglass bodies, a few of which were completed into vehicles. Production ceased when attorneys for the Ferrari factory became involved and ordered McBurnie and all other fabricators to cease production of the replica Daytona bodies. This example contains a fresh Chevrolet 383, which has been dyno tested at 425 horsepower. It is mated to a GM TH350 transmission.  A high-performance exhaust system was mated to the new engine, including 2 ½” cast exhaust manifolds and 3” stainless steel cross-over (X) exhaust system with Ferrari exhaust tips.  Only approximately 50 break-in miles have been added since the engine upgrade and installation of performance and mechanical updates. The car features disc brakes, air conditioning (compressor should be replaced), power steering and other factory Corvette options.

This Ferrari Daytona replica is finished in midnight black and comes with both hard and soft tops.  A complete re-paint was commissioned approximately one year ago.  The interior has tilt and telescopic with removable Nardi wood steering wheel. The seats as pictured are original cream with black stripes.  The owner had a new driver’s performance seat installed to accommodate his 6’ 6” frame and recolored the passenger seat in black to match, then elected to reistall the first seat. The passenger seat can be recolored to its original cream and black stripes or the driver's seat can be recolered to black.  While mechanically superior, this example of a Ferrari 365 GTB/4 with new engine is ready for a new owner to lavish attention to a few remaining details.
